As a job seeker you must obtain a job offer from an employer who holds a UKVI sponsor licence, as this licence allows UK employers to recruit and employ foreign skilled workers. The position must either be on the shortage occupation list or meet the skilled worker visa eligibility criteria, which the employer has not been able to fill with local people. Therefore, this category is aimed at filling a position that has arisen in the workplace and is not a role created solely for visa purposes.
